The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He conducts tests and reviews of cleaning appliances. His main focus is robot vacuums, and mopping combinations. Multitaskers are a great option for those looking to get rid of mopping off their to-do lists. Some of them have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free cleaning.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model you need to choose if you want an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It is smaller than other models, making it easier to maneuver in tight spaces or under furniture. It features a 220 degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best navigation and object avoidance that I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170-minutes, if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery during the cleaning.

It's extremely efficient and does an outstanding job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It is able to vacuum carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen, and hallways with just one motion. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to clean dirt, pet hair, and even droppings effortlessly. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it comes into contact with rugs, and the dual side brushes help draw away debris from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, is not as impressive. The mop rotates quickly and makes use of 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a little more than other robots. This is useful when getting into tight corners or along baseboards. The same front arms can be employed to clean up larger debris, like broken toys and fallen books.

Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've ever used. It doesn't produce the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It is easy to install, and it works well. However, if you are buying this robot vacuum solely for mopping you must pay attention to this.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It comes with a wide array of features that make it an ideal choice for homeowners looking to purchase an efficient, flexible, and customizable cleaning machine.

The device is equipped with an efficient cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This enables it to map out the home, identify furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean efficiently and efficiently. This will ensure an efficient and consistent cleaning, while also being relatively fast.

In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach an array of surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards and other difficult to reach places. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads can also be washable and can be dried to eliminate odors and stop buildup.

Another feature worth mentioning is the app-based customization options. The Q Revo lets you adjust the strength of suction and choose between a back-and-forth or slightly more random pattern. You can also alter the number of passes it must make, which will determine the speed at which the device can move through your home. You can also choose to disable the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.

This device is expensive but has many smart features. It's crucial to remember that it carries recurring costs, such as mopping supplies and maintenance. For instance the brushroll has to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hours, and mop pads must be changed every one to three months.

This robotic vacuum cleaner has a high Amazon rating and includes a wide range of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with a power button which doubles as a 'Clean' button' and a 'Home' button to send it back home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the dustbin and refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a busy professional or someone who wants an organized home that doesn't require a lot of time on chores, the Shark Matrix Plus is a solid choice. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation, and long battery life allow you to maintain a clean home with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it is able to handle both vacuuming and mopping. It has two modules: a dry bin and reservoir of water, and a separate mopping module with a microfiber pad that snaps in and out of place. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping, but it does mean you don't have to fret about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature was its precise map of your floorplan that it uses to draw the path to follow when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app also offers the option to set 'No-Go zones' and virtual barriers, which help to shield certain areas of your house from being scrubbed with a mop.

We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing pet hair. It was able capture an enormous amount of hair that our cats shed and even got into the nooks and crevices of our stairs, where other robots struggled. The noise levels were low and there were lovely jingles that signal that it was in the process of working towards its goal.

The app was too easy and you had to change the modules each time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app is not able to keep multiple maps. This can be a problem if your home has multiple floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who want a device that can mop and vacuum.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that can be found in our review, however it also has unique features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni is most notable for its enormous dock that doubles as an charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses a 2.5-liter dust bin and an 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.

The base comes with several control buttons that allow you to manually start cleaning tasks and then recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down  robot vacuum cleaners  to turn off the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are concerned about their children messing around with the vacuum.

The Omni Omni like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to identify obstacles and furniture in its path. It will stay clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more precise at recognising objects.

Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni will occasionally become so entangled with an obstacle--such as an electrical cord dangling across a rug, that it gets stuck and ceases to function until you manually free it. This is a rare event however, it was a bit frustrating because the X1 doesn't have an "stuck status" alert on its app.

Another possible issue is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during cleaning. You will need to manually swap between the two, which isn't a big deal aside from the fact that mopping pads aren't washed and dried between uses, which can lead to mildew or mold.

On the bright side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad apparatus. It's a huge difference from the utilitarian black bases of competitors like Roborock or iRobot. And it's an excellent choice for an industry dominated by boxes.
